Welcome!
We understand that coming to a Christian assembly for the first time may be a bit scary if you are new (and especially so if you are an introvert). We have put together this quick (and hopefully useful) guide which should help you to know more about what to expect and how you can get the most out of your visit with us.
First of all, thank you for taking your time to be here with us! We wish to make you feel as welcome as possible, so please do let us know your needs as they arise.
General notes:
Singing – You will notice that our congregation sings hymns in parts (i.e. Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass). We know this can be confusing if you are not familiar with reading the notes and/or the hymns. Do follow the song leader or sing the melody if you are able to, if not, do not worry, it is completely fine for you to simply listen. We can also arrange for someone to sit beside you to guide you along.
The coordinator/ song leader will announce the schedule order and what to expect next so you should not be caught off guard by anything that takes place in the service.
Please do remember to keep your phone on silent mode throughout the service(s) to avoid disruption.
I would like to come for Sunday bible class:
Our Sunday Bible classes begin at 9.30am and end by 10.20 – 10.30 am. During Bible class, we typically separate into several different classes to suit each group’s needs. For example, we have a Sunday school programme for babies and children up to the age of 12 (click here to find out more about the Sunday School programme) and we also arrange for personalised classes where individuals can ask questions and cover topics that they are interested in or want to know more about in a smaller group setting (usually 2-4 people). Do reach out to any of us (insert contacts here) if this seems like something you would be interested in and we’d be more than happy to arrange a study for you. If you are more comfortable to sit in the general auditorium for the main adults’ Bible class, you are also welcome to do so.
I would like to attend Sunday worship service:
There will be a short 10-15 minute break in after the bible class just before the worship session begins for everyone to get settled down in the main auditorium. The worship session begins at around 10.40 am. There are no assigned seats so feel free to sit anywhere in the auditorium you feel most comfortable. It can get a bit chilly so bring a jacket if you are built for warmer weather.
You are not expected to stand to introduce yourself, contribute any money or do anything that you are uncomfortable with.
I am more comfortable speaking Mandarin / Tamil:
We also have Mandarin and Tamil services in the building behind the main auditorium. Please reach out to Bro Allen Tan & Bro Eng Boon for more information on the Mandarin or Bro Panir Santiago for the Tamil congregations.
If you are unsure where to begin or would like to visit us, reach out to any of the following individuals:
Rick Kirk (Elder)
Ong Eng Boon (Elder)
Ho Chien Chern (Deacon)
